Skydiver's Family pay Tribute to Ryan Brown of Goole who died in parachute fall over Bridlington, East Yorkshire
FOLLOWING the death of Ryan Brown on Sunday 22 August 2010, his parents have released the following statement:
Ryan's mum Jenny said: "Ryan had such a funny sense of humour and always made me laugh when I needed a lift. I am immensely proud of everything he achieved in his life; he was a bit of a daredevil, loving motorbikes and skydiving, he was a very dedicated and intelligent young man.
"Ryan had visited many places in the world, including America, Czechoslovakia, Australia, Italy and France. He had a natural charm, making friends everywhere he went and was a truly fantastic son and great to be around.
Ryan's Dad Dave added: "Ryan was a true gentleman, not shy of showing his emotions. He would give me a hug every day when we met for breakfast or when one of us was going out. Not only was he my son, but he was my best friend, we were extremely close.
"The day Ryan died, it was my 60th birthday, and he rang me whilst I was in France, to wish me a happy birthday, he was incredibly considerate to his family and his friends.
"Ryan was at a time in his life, where everything was coming together, he had very recently proposed to his girlfriend in America, and was preparing to be with her and her son. We were so happy for him."
Ryan moved from Aberdeen in Scotland to Thorne, and then to Rawcliffe with his family when he was just 10 years old. Since moving to the Yorkshire area, Ryan had became interested in martial arts, music (guitar), motorbikes & above all skydiving.
At the age of 15, he took his first ever parachute jump from 4500ft high with his dad.
Four years ago Ryan took up skydiving with a passion. Joining the Skydive GB club in Bridlington and joining a display team raising money for various charities.
In that time he had qualified as a skydiving instructor and had between 300 and 400 jumps under his belt; often doing 2-3 jumps a day.
His mum added: "His loss will leave a huge hole in a lot of peoples lives. I can't believe he will never walk through the front door again. I am at a loss to describe how loving & caring he was."
Ryan leaves behind his devastated mum Jenny, dad Dave, younger sister Gemma, his fiance Bethyny and her son Raistlin along with an extensive extended family and friends.
In Ryan's words "Life is a journey, not a destination".
