Strange shades to single flower

CHRYSANTHEMUMS come in a variety of colours but one Driffield woman had a surprise when she discovered a single stalk bearing two different colours.

Pictured is Eileen Fetches, 79, of Skerne Road with the unusual flower grown in her back garden.

Mrs Fetches’ late husband Leslie Fetches had been growing chrysanthemums for around 50 years, was once a member of the Driffield Chrysanthemum Society and was a regular competitor at shows.

Since his death at the age of 81 over two years ago Mrs Fetches has continued growing a small patch of the flowers in her garden.
