Driffield mother-of-two Kirsty Hickson, owner of The Creation Station East Yorkshire has been awarded the prestigious award of Best Can Do Attitude Award 2014.

The national Creation Station franchise awards were awarded to the winners at the 12th annual Release the Magic Conference in Birmingham on Saturday 1 March.

Sarah Cressall founder and Managing Director said: “The number of entrants for the awards has been greater than ever. We have a really inspiring network who are doing really great things within their communities.”

Kirsty Hickson, who was described by judges as having ‘a passion to inspire imaginations’ added: “I am so delighted to have won this award. I started my business in March 2013 after 12 years in teaching, so it was a huge step to take and actually completely out of my comfort zone but something I very much wanted to do. “I set my mind not only to building a business but to put myself out in the community as a confident franchise owner.

“I am passionate about what we do and made it my goal to work hard to develop my business and inspire the children in our area. What’s more is that I am absolutely loving the new experiences, meeting people, parents and of course the very reason I went into this, the children.

“Receiving this award in my first year has been the icing on the cake. It is such an honour to work with such an inspiring network of people and meet the most wonderful families who strive me to work hard and have that ‘Can Do’ attitude. I thank everyone who has been involved in the journey so far.”
