Driffield town council CCTV Committee are now looking at upgrading the cameras which in some cases are 20 years old, chairman Coun Paul Rounding told the annual parish meeting
“It is now fair to say that the vast majority, if not all, the town centre is now covered with CCTV,” he explained.
“And, with this in mind, the Committee are now looking at replacing cameras - some of which are almost 20 years old - with new more modern equipment.”
He explained: “Without doubt, the commitment of the committee has resulted in the success of our system.
“Unfortunately, we had to say goodbye to one of our most valued members, Anjanette Mills, who sadly resigned due to personal circumstances - she is greatly missed.
“The CCTV Committee is consists of town councillors, business owners, neighbourhood police officers, ERYC enforcement officers and local residents and is a great example of how various agencies can really achieve great things if they work together.”
