A community choir have performed for the Archbishop of York.

The Wagoners choir, set up by musical director, Charlotte Dixon, sang at a service confirmation attended by Dr John Sentamu on Sunday 23 February at St Andrew’s Church, Middleton-on-the-Wolds.

Charlotte said: “The choir is growing and we now have about 15 members consisting of children aged between five and 10-years-old and a few adults.

“We have been given permission to call ourselves the Wagoners Choir and wear the centenary Sledmere Wagoners’ logo on our uniform. This because we formed the year of the centenary of the Wagoners regiment.

“The children are all local to the benefice. We have performed at several church services and community events in Wetwang.”

Driffield Times & Post photographer, Mike Hopps, went along to photograph the choir during The Archbishop of York’s visit.
