Major accident closes road between Scarborough and Whitby
A major coast route has been closed tonight after a three-vehicle crash.
Two cars and a lorry were involved in a collision on the A171 Whitby Road in Scarborough at around 4.40pm.
Police expect the road to be shut until at least 11pm, as the truck has shed its load in the Flask area.
Casualties are not yet known.
