AN accountancy manager from Brandesburton has been elected as president of the York Society of Chartered Accountants.
John Butler, who grew up in Brandesburton, hopes to use his year in office to promote the work which chartered accountants can do for businesses.

Mr Butler, a manager specialising in personal and corporate recovery and insolvency work at Tenon Group, takes over the position from Peter Atkinson of York.

A keen rugby and cricket player, Mr Butler still lives in Brandesburton and is a partner in his family farming business.
