HIGHLY regarded professional wildlife artist John Naylor is to exhibit 40 stunning examples of his latest work during a special exhibition in Driffield from December 11 to 13.
John, of Langtoft, has spent the past six months preparing and framing the work in readiness for the event at The Exchange on Exchange Street.
The exhibition will feature a wide variety of animal subjects focusing on the theme of British Wildlife - all created in pastels.
John's skilfully crafted work is primarily a reflection of his life and interests and often features animals and birds which he has kept in order to study them for his pictures.
Born in Hull in 1960, John started to paint professionally in 1980 and often draws inspiration from his interest in the nature which abounds in the countryside around his village home and garden studio.
For many years he been an active falconer and beagler and when necessary he also travels far and wide to find new subject matter such as badgers and roe deer, which will both feature in his latest exhibition.
Another star of this year's Driffield event will be a baby long eared owl which John hand reared at his home and which he called Rusty because it made an endearing sound reminiscent of a creaking door.
"I keep animals for a certain amount of time then move them on to give me more experience," he explained.
Other subjects for the December exhibition will be wide and diverse, from birds of prey, dogs, and deer to partridges, quail and a massive and imposing picture of a wild boar.
The exhibition will run from December 11-13 at The Exchange, Exchange Street, Driffield, and will be open each day from 9.30am to 5pm.
The work will be available to buy, with prices ranging from £135 to £3,000. For further information log on to www.john-naylor.co.uk or telephone (01377) 267314.
