CHOCOLATE Caramel gave connections the sweet taste of success in the featured race of Beverley's card on Tuesday afternoon.
The six-year-old was sent off at 20/1 under Jamie Moriarty, but sprang something of a surprise to beat favourite Hits Only Vic by a length and a half in the Mary Elizabeth Westwood Celebration Handicap.

The runner-up was one of three sent to the t
rack from nearby Sledmere by trainer Declan Carroll, and each of them found one too good!

Just Sam was sent off favourite for the opening claiming contest but finished just a neck behind the winner Royal Applord.

And Top Man Dan only had Flashy Max in front of him at the line in the closing apprentice handicap.

The bookmakers certainly enjoyed the better of the betting ring exchanges with only one favourite going on to win their race.

That was Gulf Coast in the Lady Jane Bethell Lady Amateur Riders Handicap.

But the three-year-old certainly made her supporters suffer as she only won the verdict over Tizzy May by a mere nose.

Elsewhere, jockey Liam Jones was amongst the winners, riding a quick double. First, he steered home 25/1 shot Princess Rhianna in the three-year-old handicap over seven and a half furlongs. Then he partnered Commander Wish to victory in the East Yorkshire Expo sprint handicap.

And 20/1 chance Noodles Blue Boy kept the theme of big price winners going in the two-year-old maiden contest.

The Westwood’s next fixture is the popular Medieval themed evening next Monday, July 21.

The card is the last of the track’s three evening meetings this season, with the first of six scheduled races due to get underway at 6.30pm.
