Northfield Foundation stage pupils have been growing two different varieties of potato at the school since February as part of a British Potato Council initiative.
The Potatoes for Schools Challenge is aimed at educating children in how to grow their own potatoes, where their food comes from and how to cook the potatoes as part of a healthy balanced diet.

Northfield was provided with a growing kit which included seed potatoes to get started and their crop has now been harvested.

The potatoes will be counted and weighed with the final figure being entered into a national competition.
