Sledmere CE School welcomes new head

THE arrival of a new head teacher at Sledmere CE Primary School will coi ncide with the opening of a permanent nursery.
Sue Thackray will leave behind her post as Early Years teacher at Luttons Primary School, in North Yorkshire to take up her first ever headship at Sledmere.

Mrs Thackray will start take up her post in September, just as the doors to the school's new Foundation Stage Unit will open.
The unit, which will run for five mornings a week, replaces the East Riding peripatetic nursery.

Nursery nurse Elaine Lee, who has worked with the East Riding peripatetic nursery, will take up a permanent position at Sledmere.

Other plans in store for the school next term include a parent and toddler group called Sledmere Little Stars which will run in conjunction with the Driffield Children's Centre.
