Tracing Buckeroo's roots
A YOUNGSTER at Driffield CE Infants School has been pictured on the school's newly restored rocking horse.
Joshua Petre enjoyed the first ride on the newly-restored horse and was given a hobby horse of his own after his suggested name, Buckeroo, was chosen in a school competition to name the horse.
The horse, which is fondly remembered by parents who also rode it when they were children, has been fully restored by Supreme Rocking Horses of Snainton, North Yorkshire.
The restoration was funded by the Friends of the School Committee, after the horse had begun to show signs of wear and tear over the years.
Little is known about the horse at the school and they would be interested to hear from anyone who can provide them with any information about when or by who it was donated.
