Driffield EI 3
Brid Sports Club 1st 1

DRIFFIELD EI put in an encouraging performance in their first pre-season friendly when they beat Humber League side Bridlington Sports Club 3-1 at Allotment Lane on the hottest night of the year last Wednesday.

Sports Club, who had some good players on show, including a player of a higher standard, started the brighter of the two sides and took the lead through Craig Bampton's superb free kick.

But EI, with several new players on show, deservedly levelled through Andy Stabler as they took control.

After the break EI dominated and added further goals, courtesy of Mike Parker and a stunner from Dale Darling, his 30-yard volley flying in off the underneath of the bar.

Sports Club did create a few chances but Mark Davies wasted the best of these as EI ran out worthy winners in what was a good run out for both sides in front of a good crowd.

o Driffield EI held their AGM last Friday at the Mariners, though no changes were made and all officers re-elected.Training continues every Sunday at 6.30pm at Driffield Sports Centre.
