Swim Club competes
at Scarborough gala
A small squad of swimmers from Driffield Junior Amateur Swimming Club ventured through to Scarborough Indoor Pool last weekend to compete in the Annual A and B Swimming Gala which is held over three days.
Clubs from all over the region compete in this popular event and all swimmers competed well. Jenny Welburn, Sam Clark, Sam Trueman and Josh Johnson enjoyed a successful weekend with respectable placings and personal bests.
The results were as follows Jenny Welburn 1st place (Girls 14 yrs 100m Breaststroke), 3rd place (14 yrs 100m Freestyle) and 7th (Girls 13 & Over 400m Freestyle), Josh Johnson 11th place (Boys 15 & over 100m Backstroke) and 13th place (Boys 15 & Over 100m Freestyle), Sam Clark 11th (Boys 13 & Over 100m Backstroke) and 12th (Boys 13 yrs 100m Freestyle) and Sam Trueman 4th place (Boys 11yrs 50m Backstroke) and 7th place (Boys 11yrs 50m Breaststroke).
Well done to all the Driffield swimmers who enjoy competing and representing their club at external competitions across the area.
