Big fund raiser at Cherry Burton
The Beverley Committee of Yorkshire Cancer Research held an Afternoon Tea at Burton Mount, Cherry Burton by kind permission of Mrs Pauline Greenwood. The event was well attended and raised £541.05 in aid of Yorkshire Cancer Research, which is Yorkshire’s cancer charity and over the past 25 years have spent over £100m within the region, a further £20m has already been committed to future years. The 10 year survival rate for cancer is now approaching 50% - that’s double the figure of just 30 years ago. We want to ensure that Yorkshire remains a centre of excellence for cancer research and treatment. Every single penny raised in Yorkshire, stays in Yorkshire and is spent wisely at the 5 centres of excellence, the Universities of Hull, York, Bradford, Leeds and Sheffield.
