NATURE lovers are delighted to have spotted an unsual black swan on the River Esk in Whitby.
The swan has been swimming around the harbour all week.

The swans are native to Australia and are the state bird of Western Australia.

They were brought to the UK as ornamental birds like peacocks and golden pheasants.

Several people called into the Gazette office to say they had spotted the swan and tried to photograph it from the harbour and swing bridge.
